Knife Drying Mat with Slotted Block, Silicone, Grey or Black
Wet knives go one of two places in most kitchens. Flat on the counter, where they leave a puddle and roll the edge against the tile. Or back into the block, where the water runs down into a slot you cannot reach with a cloth.
This is the third option. A silicone pad with a slot block that sits in a recess at one end. The blades go in standing up, the water runs down the hex pattern and dries in the open.
The block lifts out of the recess and separates from the mat, so you rinse it under the tap instead of trying to dry the inside of twelve slots.
Slots are 0.39 in (1 cm) wide with a 0.08 in (2 mm) gap at the bottom. That takes normal chef, santoku and paring blades. Cleavers and anything thicker will not go in, and I would rather say so here than have you find out on delivery.
Grey or black, 20.5 oz (580 g).
The maker does not publish an overall length and width for the mat, and I am not going to measure it off a product photo and call that a spec sheet. Run a tape along your counter before you order.
What you get: the mat and the slot block. Knives are not included, those are mine.
Fits if: blades up to 0.39 in (1 cm) thick. Chef, santoku and paring knives go in. Cleavers do not.
Not for: cleavers and blades thicker than 1 cm. Dishwasher drying - water sits inside the slots.
Size: the maker does not publish overall length and width. Slot width 0.39 in (1 cm), slot gap 0.08 in (2 mm), 20.5 oz (580 g).
