Silicone Dish Drying Mat – Drains into Sink, Folds Flat

$17.99
Size

Fits if: counter space from 14.6 x 11.6 in (37 x 29.5 cm) up to 22.8 x 15.9 in (58 x 40.5 cm)

Not for: countertops where the sink rim sits higher than the counter - the drain lip has nothing to hang over

Size: large 18.9 x 13.8 x 0.7 in (48 x 35 x 1.8 cm), drain ridge 4.33 in (11 cm) high

The puddle under the dish rack is the part nobody talks about.

A rack dries your plates on top and leaves a pool to deal with underneath. This mat does it the other way round: dishes rest on a raised slope, water runs down the slope, and the drain lip at the low edge drops it straight into the sink.

Nothing to tip out. No wiping the counter after every load. And when you are done, it rolls up flat or hangs from the hole in the corner.

Why it works

  • The slope does the draining - dishes sit on a 4.33 in (11 cm) raised ridge, so water runs downhill to the low edge instead of pooling under the mat.
  • Drain lip sits over the sink rim - set the mat beside the sink with the lip hanging over the edge, and the water leaves on its own.
  • Ribbed surface keeps air moving - raised ribs lift plates and glasses off the surface so both sides dry instead of staying damp.
  • Counter stays dry - no standing water under the mat means no rings and no water stains.
  • Food-safe silicone, BPA-free - soft enough to roll up, heat-resistant enough to hold a hot pot or pan straight off the stove.
  • Non-slip base - grips the counter so the mat does not slide while you load it.
  • Hanging hole - roll it up and hang it on a hook when the counter needs to be clear.

Setting it up takes about 30 seconds

  1. Set the mat on the counter beside the sink.
  2. Slide it so the drain lip hangs over the sink rim.
  3. Load your dishes. That's it.

Pick your size

  • Small - 14.6 x 11.6 in (37 x 29.5 cm) - tight counter, studio kitchens, a few plates and cups.
  • Medium - 15.7 x 12.8 in (40 x 32.5 cm) - the everyday size; matches the common 15.8 in dish mat footprint.
  • Large - 18.9 x 13.8 in (48 x 35 cm) - most family sinks, dinner plates and a pot.
  • X-Large - 22.8 x 15.9 in (58 x 40.5 cm) - wide farmhouse sinks and full dinner sets.

What you get

  • 1x silicone dish drying mat with raised drain slope and built-in drain lip

Does what it says, runs a bit small

I ordered based on my counter width and got the medium, which technically fits but leaves less drying room than I pictured. Should've sized up. Still, no more wet towel under the rack and it drains clean every time, so I'm keeping it.

Six weeks in, still like new

I've been using it daily since spring and there's zero discoloration or warping. I was worried silicone would stain from tomato sauce but it wipes clean. Rolls flat, hangs on a hook, no complaints at all.

Drains well but dishes sit low

The draining part works, I'll give it that. My issue is the ribbed surface doesn't hold as many items as a rack since everything sits at a tilt. If you run a lot of dishes a day you might still want a real rack for overflow.

X-large fits my farmhouse sink

I have a big apron sink and a wide counter so I went X-large. It covers the whole area and the lip reaches across the rim no problem. Holds a full dinner for four plus pots. Gray matches my counters better than I expected.

Great daily, small learning curve

Took me a couple days to figure out the best angle so the lip sits right over the basin. Now it's automatic. Build quality is nice, thick silicone, no smell out of the box. Docking one star only because the medium gets crowded with a full sink load.

Set up in thirty seconds

Unboxed, set it beside the sink, slid the lip over the edge, done. I timed it, took under a minute. Loaded the breakfast dishes right away and watched the water run off. My husband was impressed which never happens.

Solid but my sink rim blocked it

The mat itself feels well made and the slope idea is smart. Problem is my sink rim sits about half an inch above the counter so the drain lip just floats and water pools at the bottom edge. Not the mat's fault, but check your rim before buying. I'm using it flat under plants now.

No more water rings

My old setup left white water stains on the quartz no matter how careful I was. Two months with this mat and the counter under it is spotless. The water just follows the slope to the sink and disappears. Wish I'd switched sooner.

Bought a second for the RV

Liked the first one so much I got another for our camper. In the RV the counter is tiny and water everywhere is a mess. Small size fits perfect next to the little sink and drains straight in. Two happy spots now.

Good mat, wish it were wider

Medium matches my old rack footprint so that part was easy. Only thing is the slope means the top of the mat holds less than a flat one, so on big dish nights I'm stacking. Still, no more wiping the counter, so I'll take it.

Hot pan straight from stove

I was skeptical about the heat claim but I set a pan right off the burner on it and no mark, no smell. Silicone is thick and soft at the same time. The non-slip base keeps it put while I'm stacking plates.

Rolls up and hangs out of the way

Small galley kitchen so counter space is everything. When I'm done I roll it and hang it on a cabinet hook. The hole in the corner is a nice touch. Unrolls flat again with no curl after a few weeks.

Ribs actually let things dry

The raised ridges are the real trick here. Glasses come off dry on the bottom instead of leaving a wet ring. I load it with dinner plates and two pint glasses every night. Way better than the flat rubber mat I had for years.

Works great but sink rim matters

Read the note about the sink rim sitting above the counter and I was worried. My rim is almost flush so it works, but the lip only hangs about a quarter inch. If your rim sticks up much this won't drain right. Once I got it seated, no complaints.

Measured first and it fit

I have exactly 19 inches of counter to the left of my sink so I grabbed the large. It spans the whole space and the drain lip hangs over fine. I fit my cast iron skillet on it after washing which I never could with the old mat.

Finally no puddle under the rack

I used to put a towel under my old wire rack and it would be soaked by dinner. This thing sits beside my sink and the water just runs right in. Took me maybe a minute to get the lip lined up right. Counter stays dry now.
