No-Drill Sill Extension Shelf for Kitchen Windows, 15.7-23.6 in
Fits if: sills and ledges at least 2 in (5 cm) tall, with a wall or window behind them. Kitchen windows above the sink, bathroom window ledges, vanity ledges, the top of a low cabinet. Match the depth you pick to how much ledge you have.
Not for: flat counters and worktops with no raised edge, because there is nothing for the shelf to sit on. Sills and ledges shorter than 2 in (5 cm). It is not a wall shelf and it is not screwed into anything.
Size: nine sizes. Widths 15.7 in (40 cm), 19.7 in (50 cm) and 23.6 in (60 cm). Depths 5.9 in (15 cm), 7.9 in (20 cm) and 9.8 in (25 cm), measured from the wall out over the sink. Unit weight 1.8 to 3.6 lb (0.8 to 1.6 kg) depending on size. Ships flat in one box.
The ledge under the window is wasted space
Look at the sill above your kitchen sink. It holds two spice jars and nothing else, because anything wider tips straight over the edge. Drilling a shelf above a sink is a job most people put off, and in a rental you cannot do it at all.
This is one flat steel board that sets down on the ledge and gives you the depth that was missing. Ten seconds to place, ten seconds to lift off when you want to wipe the sill down.
Once it is on, that strip becomes somewhere to stand bowls up to dry, line oils and vinegar along the wall, or park a chopping board while you work. It reaches out over the sink, so water drains away instead of pooling on your counter.
Carbon steel under a powder coat that wipes clean. The back lip is raised so jars do not slide off when you reach past them, and the corners are rolled, not sharp.
Nine sizes. Pick the depth first, because that is how far it reaches out, then the width: 15.7, 19.7 or 23.6 in.
Measure your ledge before you order. It needs to be at least 2 in (5 cm) tall to sit right. A flat counter with no raised edge is not a fit.
What you get: one extension shelf. Nothing to assemble, nothing to screw in.
