Where the spatula actually lives

Second drawer down, lying across the top of everything else. Which is why it never came out until you were already half way through cooking, with wet hands, reaching past the potato peeler.

So the tools went on the wall instead. The bar comes in three lengths - 7.9 inches with four hooks, 15.7 with eight, 23.6 with twelve - and you pick the one that fits the wall you have, rather than the other way round.

The hooks hang on a rail that runs along the underside of the bar. The bar itself is powder coated aluminium in a warm off white, with a fine whitewashed wood grain printed into the coating: light enough that it is not asking much of the wall, and finished well enough that it does not read as plastic. The hooks are slim champagne coloured wire, evenly spaced, and each one takes a spatula, a ladle, a whisk, tongs, a slotted spoon, an oven mitt.

It goes up without a drill. That is the whole reason this version is the one we stock - you are not putting four holes in somebody else's tile, and you are not filling them in when you leave.

Two things to check before you order. Your wall wants to be flat and smooth, and it wants to be somewhere you already wipe down every night, because anything that lives on a kitchen wall collects a light film of whatever you cooked. And keep it off the strip directly above the hob.

What you get: one aluminium bar, plus the hooks for the length you pick. Nothing else in the box.

Two months in, still stuck

I have had the 8 hook bar up since early May and it has not shifted at all despite daily use and a humid kitchen. The hooks have not bent even with a heavy metal spoon hanging on one. For the price, this did exactly what I needed it to do.

Great in the bathroom too

I know it is marketed for kitchens but I put the 4 hook 7.9 inch on the bathroom wall for a hand towel and a shower pouf. Does exactly what I need. Only downside is the 4 hook version is short, so if you have a lot to hang, size up.

The whole reason I bought this was to avoid drilling into someone else's tile, and it delivered. Peeled the backing, pressed it on, waited a day, hung my utensils. When I move out I will just pull it off and wipe the spot.

Color reads a bit warm

In my kitchen lighting the off white looks slightly yellow next to my bright white subway tile. Not a dealbreaker, just not the crisp white I pictured. Functionally it is great and the wood grain detail is subtle enough that it does not look fake.

Holds more than I thought

I was skeptical a no drill strip could hold a full set of utensils, but the 12 hook version handles my ladle, whisk, tongs, two spatulas, and a slotted spoon without any bowing. The rail runs along the underside so the weight is distributed evenly.

I mounted the 15.7 inch a little closer to the stove than I should have and the bottom hooks get warm when I am boiling something big. Moved it over about eight inches and problem solved. Install was easy and the finish looks way nicer than plastic.

Keeps the wall wipeable

I put mine on the wall I already wipe down nightly, which the listing actually suggested. Good call, because after two weeks of cooking there is a faint film on the bar and it wipes right off. The powder coat has not chipped or discolored at all.

Wanted 12, got 12

Ordered the 23.6 inch with 12 hooks thinking I would use them all. Turns out I only have maybe eight utensils worth hanging, so there are a few empty hooks. That is on me, not the product. It looks clean and the bar is solid aluminum, not flimsy.

Bought a second one

Liked the first 8 hook so much I ordered the 12 hook for the other wall near the prep area. One holds utensils, the other holds oven mitts and a small cutting board on a loop. Both have been up for a couple months with zero sag.

Fine, but hooks are slim

Adhesive held great and it went up in under a minute like it says. My problem is the hooks themselves are pretty thin, so my heavier stainless ladle sits a little crooked. It does not fall off, it just looks off. For lighter stuff it is totally fine.

Measured twice, fits perfect

I taped off 15.7 inches on my wall before ordering because I have a narrow strip between the window and the upper cabinet. The 8 hook bar slid right in. I keep a slotted spoon, a pasta fork, and a small strainer on it. Nicely spaced, nothing clanks together.

Installed the 4 hook 7.9 inch over my sink area in the bathroom for a loofah and hand towel. The adhesive is strong but my wall has a slight orange peel texture and I can see one corner not sitting totally flush. Still holding after five weeks. Just be honest about how smooth your wall really is.

The off white with that faint wood grain actually matches my cabinets, which I did not expect for a no drill bar. I hung the 12 hook version along the side of the fridge run. The champagne hooks are thin but they hold my cast aluminum ladle fine.
