I liked the first one enough that I bought a second for our basement pantry where we keep bulk rice. The sealed design keeps the humidity out down there which was always a problem with open bags. Both units have been running smoothly for weeks. The narrow shape stacks nicely next to other bins.
The body is sturdy and the seal keeps rice fresh, no complaints there. The wire handle on the tray is a little thin and I worry it might bend over time if I'm not careful. It hasn't bent yet after a month of daily use so maybe it's fine. Overall a good buy for the price.
I'm using this for quinoa and farro as well as rice and it handles all of them without clogging. The tray fills evenly and the button never jams. The narrow profile means it fits between my stand mixer and the wall. The measuring cup is basic but it works.
The product is fine but I measured my cabinet gap wrong and it doesn't fit where I wanted it. The 6.9 inch depth is accurate, my gap is just 6.5. It's sitting on the counter instead which works but isn't what I planned. Function wise it's solid, just double check your space.
I used to keep rice in a big plastic tub and scoop it out with a cup, which always ended with rice on the counter. This dispenser solved that completely. Press the button, pull the tray, tip it in the pot. The sealed body keeps moisture out and I haven't seen a single bug since I switched.
I ordered the translucent front version and I'm glad I did. Being able to see the rice level from across the kitchen means I never get surprised mid recipe. The 12.1 inch width fits my shelf perfectly and the 6.9 inch depth means it doesn't stick out. Dumping the tray into the rice cooker is mess free.
The dispenser does its job and the rice stays dry, but the lid doesn't snap down with a super tight seal. I can hear a little air movement when I press it. It's listed as moisture resistant not airtight so I knew that going in. Still a big upgrade from a rolled up bag.
I bought this mostly to stop the rice bag from falling over and my wife was skeptical. Now she uses it every day and says the measuring cup is her favorite part. The one press button is simple enough that our teenager can use it without making a mess. Sits on the counter next to the coffee maker.
I've had this for about eight weeks now and it's held up great. The mat pp material feels solid and the button still springs back like new. I was worried the tray would get sticky over time but a damp cloth wipes it clean. Holds a full bag of short grain rice with no issues.
The 11 lb capacity is accurate and the button mechanism is smooth. I just wish they made a larger version because I go through rice fast. Still, it keeps the rice sealed and insect free which was my main concern. The translucent front is worth the extra few dollars over the solid.
My kitchen is tiny and I had zero counter space left. This slid into the narrow gap next to my stove and I don't even notice it's there until I need rice. The front window strip on the solid version is enough to see the level. No more hauling a heavy bag out of the cupboard.
The dispenser works fine and the rice stays fresh, but the tray only holds about one cup at a time. For a family of four I'm pressing the button three or four times per meal. It's not broken, it's just slower than scooping from a bag. The build quality seems decent for the price though.
I bought the translucent version for rice and liked it so much I ordered another for all purpose flour. The sealed lid keeps the flour from clumping in my humid kitchen. Both sit side by side on the pantry shelf and the narrow footprint means they don't eat up the whole shelf. The measuring cup that comes with it is a nice touch.
Works exactly as described, the one press tray fills up nice and even. My only gripe is that the maker doesn't list it as dishwasher safe so I'm hand wiping the tray every time. It's not a deal breaker but it's a little extra work. Holds a full 11 lb bag of basmati with a bit of room left.
My old setup was a 20 lb bag folded over on the pantry shelf and it tipped at least once a week. This thing just sits there and I press the button and rice comes out. The tray holds enough for a big pot and the wire handle makes it easy to dump in. Took me about two minutes to figure out the button mechanism.
I measured the gap between my fridge and counter three times before ordering and it slid right in with room to spare. The 6.9 inch depth is the whole reason I bought this over a round bin. I keep jasmine rice in it and the translucent front means I can see when I'm running low without pulling it out.
