I'm rough on things and I figured this would fall off within a few weeks. Two months later it's still stuck to the tile and holding my wife's flat iron without any give. For twenty five bucks I'm impressed.
Placed it about a foot to the right of my vanity mirror and it's the most convenient spot. My curling iron is always within reach and never on the counter. The black blends in with my fixtures too.
Nothing fancy, just a piece of aluminum that holds my hot brush. Setup was under five minutes. My only note is that the standard opening is snug on thicker handles, so if you're between sizes go XL.
No drill is the selling point and it did hold for about five weeks on my glass mirror. Then one morning it just let go, iron and all, onto the counter. The bracket didn't break, the pad failed. If your surface is super smooth it's probably fine, mine might have had a bit of moisture.
I used to toss my flat iron in a drawer while it was still warm and I definitely melted a plastic organizer that way. Now it just hangs on the wall above the outlet. Should have done this a long time ago.
My bathroom is basically a closet and I needed every inch of counter space. This freed up a decent chunk. Took me a couple tries to get the placement right so the iron didn't bump the towel bar, but once it was up it was up.
I use a straightener every morning and I was worried the aluminum would get too hot or discolor. Three months in and it looks the same as day one. The warm barrel just doesn't affect it.
Didn't think much about the cord slot until I used it. My iron stays put when I unplug it instead of getting dragged off the wall. Small design thing but it's the difference between this and a plain hook.
Functionally no complaints, my flat iron has been standing in it for about six weeks with no sag or slipping. Only thing is the black stands out against my white tile and I'd have preferred a lighter option. Still, it does exactly what it says.
I have a 2 inch barrel curling iron and the standard opening would have been way too tight. Went XL and it drops in perfectly. It's about 5 inches tall so it doesn't stick out past the mirror frame, looks intentional.
The bracket itself feels solid and the aluminum is nicer than I expected for the price. My problem is my bathroom walls are textured plaster and the pad wouldn't hold at all. Ended up mounting it on the tile inside the shower area instead, which works, but I wish I'd read the surface requirements more carefully.
Liked the first one so much I ordered another for the downstairs bathroom where my mom stays when she visits. Both went up on tile with no issues. It's a small thing but it makes the vanity look way less cluttered.
I lose my deposit if I put holes in anything, so this was the whole reason I bought it. Stuck it to the glass of my shower mirror area and it's been holding my hot brush upright for close to two months now. Warm barrel doesn't seem to bother the aluminum at all.
Works great on the sealed stone backsplash in my bathroom. I tried putting a second one on the painted wall near the closet and the pad gave up after a week, but that wall has old flaky paint so honestly that's on me. On smooth tile it's rock solid.
Measured my curling iron barrel before ordering and got 1.3 inches, so I went with the standard. It slides in with a little room and doesn't wobble. The cord slot on the side is the detail I didn't know I needed, my old setup always had the cord yanking the iron sideways when I unplugged it.
I have a tiny pedestal sink and zero drawer space, so my flat iron lived on the toilet tank lid for two years. This bracket stuck to the tile right next to the mirror and my iron just stands there now. Installation took maybe three minutes, peel and press, then wait a bit before loading it up.
