Drying dishes without the counter hog

You know the drill: after dinner, the drying rack is overflowing, plates are balanced on the stove, and the counter is a damp mess. We built this in-cabinet dish drying rack for kitchens that don't have room for a permanent drying station—so you can stash it inside a cabinet and keep your counters clear. It expands tool-free from 12.2 to 23 inches (31 to 58.5 cm), so it fits most standard cabinets. But before you order, measure your cabinet floor width to ensure it falls within that range—we want it to fit perfectly, not force it.

Why you'll love this rack

  • Dividers that stay put: Our U-shaped dividers lock into the rail with a snug grip—no more popping out when you load a heavy plate. Choose 10 dividers for everyday dishes or 13 for extra slots for lids and cutting boards.
  • One-piece rail, no sagging: Unlike cheap expandable racks that separate in the middle under weight, this rack uses a single continuous rail. It won't split or bow, even with a full load of dinner plates.
  • Stays where you put it: Non-slip base pads grip wood, laminate, and melamine cabinet floors, so the rack doesn't slide when you pull out a plate. No more chasing it around the cabinet.
  • Protects your cabinet floor: A built-in drip tray catches every drop, so water never pools under the rack and damages the cabinet. The tray is removable, so you can empty and rinse it in seconds.
  • Fits your life: At 7.3 in (18.5 cm) deep and 7.1 in (18 cm) tall, it tucks into upper cabinets, side cabinets, and base cabinets with clearance. It's perfect for renters, small kitchens, and anyone who wants their counter back.
  • Holds more than plates: Use it for bowls, small pots, cutting boards, and pot lids up to 11 in (28 cm) in diameter. It's ideal for Sunday meal prep when you need to dry three cutting boards at once.

Frequently asked questions

Q: How do I know if it fits my cabinet?
A: Measure the inside width of your cabinet floor. This rack expands from 12.2 to 23 in (31 to 58.5 cm). If your cabinet is within that range, you're good. If it's wider, you might need a different solution.

Q: Are the dividers really stable?
A: Yes. The U-shaped dividers lock onto the rail with a firm grip, so they won't slide loose or pop out when you load plates. We tested it with heavy dinnerware.

Q: Will it scratch my cabinet floor?
A: No. The base has non-slip pads that grip the surface without scratching. Plus, the drip tray catches water, so moisture won't sit on the floor.

Q: Can I wash the drip tray in the dishwasher?
A: It's best to hand-wash the tray to preserve the finish, but it's easy to rinse under the tap. The rack itself is powder-coated, so it resists rust and is easy to wipe down.

Bought another for my parents

I was so happy with mine that I ordered a second one for my parents' house. My mom loves that she can stash it in the cabinet and keep the counter open. It's easy to adjust with no tools, and the non-slip feet are a nice touch. Works perfectly in their standard cabinet.

Almost perfect, just a bit wobbly

The rack is sturdy overall, but when it's fully expanded to 58 cm, it has a slight flex in the middle if I load it unevenly. I just center the heavy plates and it's fine. The dividers are great, and the drip tray works well. Good value for the money.

Fits my narrow upper cabinet

My kitchen has these weird narrow upper cabinets that are useless for storage. I measured and this rack fit perfectly at the shortest setting. It holds my everyday plates and a few mugs, and the cutting board slot is handy. The assembly took less than a minute.

Durable and easy to clean

I've had this for two months now, and it still looks brand new. The drip tray pops out in one second, so I rinse it in the sink every few days. The black coating hasn't scratched or rusted, even with constant wet dishes. My counter finally stays dry.

Good for big families

With 13 dividers, I can dry a whole dinner party's worth of plates and bowls. The rack fits in my base cabinet nicely. The only thing is the 58.5 cm max width—I have a wider cabinet, so there's a gap on the side, but it still holds fine. Solid for the price.

Perfect for a rental kitchen

I'm renting and wasn't allowed to hang anything on the walls, so counters were my only option. This rack solved the whole problem—I just keep it in the cabinet and pull it out when I need it. It's lightweight but strong, and the non-slip pads keep it from sliding. No damage to the cabinet floor.

Works, but dividers are tight

I like that it doesn't sag, but the dividers are a little stiff to snap into place. It takes some elbow grease to move them if you need to adjust for a large pot lid. Once they're in, they stay put, which is good. The rack does what it says, just not the easiest to reconfigure.

Color is spot on

I got the ivory white and it matches my cabinets perfectly—looks almost built-in. The powder coating is smooth and hasn't chipped, even after daily use for a month. The rack is stable and the dividers hold my plates at a good angle so they dry fast. Very happy.

Great for meal prep days

I do big cooks on Sunday and always have three cutting boards plus a ton of lids to dry. This rack fits them all without taking over my counter. I set it up in about two minutes, and the one-piece rail means it doesn't separate under weight. My old plastic rack bowed, this one doesn't.

Holds a lot, but tray is shallow

This rack fits my cabinet perfectly and holds a surprising amount of dishes. The only downside is the drip tray is pretty shallow—if I load wet plates right away, water can get on the cabinet floor. I just shake off the plates first, and it's fine. The dividers are solid and don't shift.

Second one for the RV

I bought one for the kitchen and liked it so much I got another for our RV. It fits the narrow cabinet there without any issue. The black color looks sharp, and the dividers hold everything from small saucers to big dinner plates. No wobble, even on the road.

A bit shallow for tall bowls

The rack is decent, but the 18 cm height is a little short for my cereal bowls—they stick up. It's fine for plates and flat stuff, but I wish it was taller. The drip tray works well and the color matches my cabinet, but I have to air-dry some bowls on the counter anyway.

Solid build, easy install

Took me maybe five minutes to expand it and set it in place. I loaded it with heavy stoneware plates and it didn't bow in the middle. The dividers stay locked in the rail, which is better than my old rack that kept popping. Holds my cutting boards and lids too, up to 28 cm like it says.

No more counter clutter

I was skeptical about an in-cabinet rack, but this thing is great. I put it in the cabinet above my dishwasher and it holds a full load of plates and bowls. The non-slip pads actually work—I don't have to chase the rack around when I grab a dish. It's been three weeks and no rust or sagging.

Good rack, but measure carefully

I didn't measure my cabinet floor before ordering and it was too narrow by about an inch. I had to return it and get the shorter version, which fit fine. The rack itself is sturdy and the dividers don't move, but just be sure to check your space first. The one-piece rail is a nice touch.

Perfect for my small apartment

My counter is tiny and I was always tripping over a clunky drying rack. This one tucks right into the cabinet under my sink, and it expands to fit perfectly. I measured first and it was easy to adjust. The drip tray catches everything, so no more water spots on my cheap laminate.
