Size15.7 in wide

Fits if: towel bar takes a 15 in wide folded towel. Five hooks slide along the rail. Two tiers plus the bar below.

Not for: stucco, wallpaper, rough brick or painted plaster under the adhesive plate. More than 33 lb, or a stack that overhangs the shelf edge.

Size: 15.7 in wide x 9.4 in deep, 7.9 in tall. 40.6 oz (1150 g).

Load: 33 lb (15 kg). Supplier rating - 15-20 kg stated on the spec sheet, quoting the lower end.

In a bathroom without a linen closet, folded towels live on the toilet tank. They slide off when someone bumps the lid, and after a month the bottom one smells like the cistern.

This is a wall shelf that takes them instead. Two tiers: the flat shelf on top for folded bath towels, a bar underneath for the one currently in use, and five hooks on the rail below for a loofah, a brush and whatever else is lying on the floor.

It is 304 stainless, not a coated steel that starts spotting after a winter. The grade is stamped on the bracket, which is more than most listings bother to do.

The whole thing folds up against the wall. That matters in a bathroom where the door only opens halfway - the shelf is 9.4 in deep when it is down and close to nothing when it is up.

Two ways to hang it: the adhesive plate for a tiled wall you cannot drill, or screws if the wall is yours. The maker rates it at 15-20 kg (33-44 lb); I am quoting the bottom of that range, because the adhesive is only as good as the tile behind it.

15.7 in (40 cm) wide. Measure the gap between your shower screen and the corner before you order - this is the size that fits a small bathroom, and it is also the size that will not fit a wide one.

What you get: the shelf, the bar, five movable hooks and both mounting kits. Towels are not included.
