Where the onions were

Onions went in a drawer. So did the potatoes and the garlic, and after a month there was a bag of soft onions at the back that you kept meaning to deal with. In the dark you cannot see what you actually have, so you buy more of it.

This basket puts them on the wall instead. It is a black wire mesh basket with two mesh dividers splitting it into three compartments, so the onions, the garlic and the ginger each get their own corner. Air moves through the mesh, so nothing sweats the way it does inside a closed drawer, and you can see what is in there from across the kitchen.

It goes up with no drilling. Two clear adhesive plates stick to the wall and the wire frame at the top of the basket hooks onto them. Renting? The plates come off and the basket comes with you.

It is 9.1 inches across, 4.1 inches deep and 6.1 inches tall. Carbon steel wire with a matte black finish, and it rinses clean under the tap when it needs it.

Two things first. The plates need a flat, smooth wall - tile, painted plaster or glass. And wipe the wall, then let it dry, before you press them on.

What you get: one wire basket and two adhesive wall plates, or a two-pack if you want a second one for the other side of the kitchen or the pantry.

Does the job, rinse carefully

Happy with it overall, onions and garlic stay fresh way longer than in the drawer. Only thing is when I rinse it under the tap I have to dry the wire thoroughly or water sits in the joints. Small thing. It mounts clean and looks good on the wall above my counter.

Solid, but measure your wall

I eyeballed my space and the basket was a touch wider than the gap I had, so it hangs a little lower than I wanted to clear the outlet. That is on me for not measuring. Quality is good, adhesive held on my tile, and it holds garlic and ginger without issue.

Fine on tile, not on my fridge

I originally wanted to stick it to the side of my fridge but the plates would not adhere to the metal at all, they just slid off. Moved it to the backsplash and it works fine there. Just know it needs a porous or textured-friendly flat wall, not a smooth metal surface like I tried.

Separated my produce properly

The three compartments are the whole point for me. Onions and apples give off gas that makes other things ripen fast, so keeping them apart from the garlic and ginger matters. Now everything has its own section and nothing is touching. Great little organizer.

Two minutes to install

Cleaned the wall, let it dry, pressed the plates, hung the basket. Whole thing took less time than making coffee. I did wait the recommended hour before loading it and it has held a couple pounds of onions without any issue. Simple and it does what it says.

Matte black matches my kitchen

I have black hardware and a black faucet so this blends right in. The finish is a true matte black, not shiny or cheap looking. Hung it above the sink for lemons and it looks intentional, like it was part of the kitchen all along.

Good, wish plates were bigger

No complaints on function. It holds my onions and garlic and keeps them off the counter. My only gripe is the adhesive plates are a bit small for how much the basket weighs when full, so I am careful not to overload it. Light daily storage like the listing says, and it is fine.

Held up three months so far

I have had this on the wall since spring and it has not sagged or peeled. The carbon steel wire feels sturdy, not flimsy like some baskets I have owned. I rinse it under the tap every couple weeks and the matte black finish has not chipped or rusted.

Good but smaller than I pictured

The build quality is fine and the adhesive is strong, but 9.1 inches is smaller in person than I expected. It fits a few onions and a head of garlic, not a whole bag. If you buy onions in bulk like I do, you will still need somewhere else for the extras. For daily use it is okay.

Small kitchen, real solution

My kitchen is tiny and every inch of counter is precious. Mounting this on the wall freed up a whole square foot. I put onions in one section, garlic in the middle, and ginger on the end. The matte black finish looks way more expensive than 26 bucks.

Airflow actually matters

My old setup was a closed ceramic crock and the garlic always went soft or sprouted. This wire basket lets everything breathe and I have not thrown out a single clove in six weeks. It is 4.1 inches deep so it does not stick out far from the wall either.

Great but read the wall note

Works exactly as described on the smooth painted wall above my sink. I tried to put the second set of plates on a textured stucco section and they would not stick at all, so that part is real. On the right wall it is rock solid. Holds my lemons and garlic nicely.

Renter friendly and it works

I rent and my lease is strict about holes in the walls. This was the whole reason I bought it. Peeled the backing, pressed the plates on my painted plaster wall, waited an hour, hung the basket. It holds a head of garlic and three onions no problem. When I move out I just pull the plates off.

Sticks solid to my tile

I was skeptical about the adhesive plates holding any real weight but they grabbed onto the ceramic tile and have not budged. I loaded it with garlic and a few small onions. The mesh lets air through so nothing gets that damp smell like it did in the plastic bin.

Finally onions off the counter
